Crochet Moss Stitch Coaster – FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Hello!!

There’s only 10 weeks till Christmas and I thought it would be fun to share this quick and easy moss stitch coaster pattern. This makes the perfect last minute gift for Christmas or just a housewarming. You can also make this along with my pattern for the moss stitch dishcloth to make it a complete set. I have always loved the look of moss stitch and it really stands out with the cotton yarn I used for this pattern.

Materials:

5.5 mm Crochet Hook
Lily Sugar N Cream Cotton Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Embroidery Thread
A Pair of Scissors

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SLST – Slip Stitch
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
FO – Finish Off

Pattern:

CH 16.

Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from hook. CH 1. SK 1. SC in next. Repeat across row. Turn.

Row 2 -14: CH 1. SK 1. SC in CH 1 space from last row. Repeat till last ST. CH 1. SC in last ST. Turn.

Change colour in last SC of row 14.

Border: SC 13 down side. SC 3 in corner. SC 13 in beginning CH. SC 3 in corner. SC 13 up side. SC 3 in corner. SC 13 across last row. SC 2 in corner. (63)

FO with invisible FO.
