Hi everyone!

I made this elf hat last year and finally got the chance to write out the pattern! It is similar to the Santa Hat, but just with a longer and skinnier top! Hope you enjoy the free crochet elf hat pattern!

Materials
5.00 mm (H) Hook
Worsted Weight (4) Yarn (I used Red Heard Super Saver)
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Abbreviations
SC – Single Crochet
CH – Chain
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
SC2TOG – Single Crochet Two Stitches Together
BKLO – Back Loop Only
FO – Finish Off

Pattern
CH 8.

Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from Hook and then across. Turn. CH 1. (7)
Row 2 – 63: SC in BKLO in each ST across. Turn. CH 1. (7)
Row 64: Holding the working row and the beginning CH 8 row, SC in the BKLO of the working row and a CH ST together, across. (7)

We will now be working in the rounds.

Round 1: CH 1. SC in each ST around of the brim of the hat. SLST into first ST of the round. (64)
Round 2 – 6: CH 1. SC in each ST around. SLST into first ST of the round. (64)
Round 7: CH 1. *SC in 14 STs, then SC2TOG.* Repeat from * to * around. SLST into first ST of the round. (60)
Round 8: CH 1. SC in each ST around. SLST in first ST of the round. (60)
