Crafting Traditions: Free Clover and Irish Blessing Blackwork Pattern
Table of Contents
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I was trying out a cross stitch pattern for a four leaf clover, but I really struggled to picture it in my head when I was using the pattern software to make it. I then decided that I would just try to make one with Blackwork and add an Irish Blessing at the bottom for a nice little project. You could turn this into a framed image, wall hang, or as a card for a housewarming gift.
For example, here is the Clover and Irish Blessing Blackwork pattern as a card:
Materials for the Clover and Irish Blessing Blackwork
Embroidery Floss: DMC 699 (Anchor 923) and DMC 702 (Anchor 225)
Aida Fabric (14 Count)
Scissors
Washable Fabric Pen (if you would like to use it to find the middle of the fabric)
Cardstock (if you are making this into a card)
Double Sided Tape (if you are making this into a card)
Picture Frame (if you want to frame it)
Fabric (If you want to make it into a fabric wall hang)
Pattern for the Clover and Irish Bless Blackwork
As you can see this is a simple pattern that would be a great start into blackwork! It can also be worked up quickly in case you needed a gift for someone’s new home.
