Crochet Cat Bottom/Butt Coaster

Hi Everyone,

It was my friend’s birthday recently and she likes cats and animated cat bottoms so I made her this cat butt coaster for her. It was a really easier than I thought to make up this pattern and I wanted to share it with you all.

Here is the pattern:

Materials
5.00 mm (H) Hook
Worsted (4) Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Stitch Marker

Abbreviations
SC – Single Crochet
MR – Magic Ring
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
HDC – Half Double Crochet
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern
Round 1: Make 6 SC in a MR (6)
Note: Place stitch marker at the beginning of Round 2.
Round 2: 2 SC into each ST (12)
Round 3: *1 SC in next ST, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (18)
Round 4: *1 SC in next 2 STs, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (24)
Round 5: *1 SC in next 3 STs, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (30)
Round 6: *1 SC in next 4 STs, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (36)
Round 7: *1 SC in next 5 STs, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (42)
Round 8: *1 SC in next 6 STs, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (48)   
Round 9: 1 SC in next 7 STs, Chain 13, HDC down the chain (12), SLST into same stitch as the 7th SC, 1 SC in next 20 STs, Chain 4, HDC down the chain (3), SLST into the same stitch as the 20th SC, 1 SC in next 7 STs, Chain 4, HDC down the chain (3), SLST into the same stitch as the 27th SC, 1 SC in next 14 STs. Slst into beginning ST.
FO. Weave in ends.

To make the butt look cuter, you can sew an X with a contrasting yarn colour in the middle of the coaster. This was a very fun little project to do and was quick to complete.
