Fun Crochet Watermelon Applique Pattern – Summer Garland Decoration
Hi there!
It been a month of summer already and I’d thought it best to start sharing my summer time garland pattern before it ends! The first applique I want to share is the watermelon applique. You can also sew these together to make a bag charm too! I used DK yarn for this pattern since I have quite a bit of it in my yarn collection.
If you have been following my blog you will have also seen my spring garland pattern as well! Since that was such a treat to design I wanted to make one for summer as well. This time I wanted to also try different stitch patterns which you will see in the other pieces. Any guesses on what they may be?
But first, lets make some watermelons.
Let’s get started!

Done! This is a simple pattern that you can make with a very small amount of yarn so you can make as many as you want to decorate your home for the summer. Once I have shared the other patterns for the garland, I will also share some pictures to what all of it put together will look like.
If you made these slightly bigger, you could also turn them into fun little coasters for the summer as well. You could try using thicker yarn or a larger hook for that. Enjoy crocheting these for your summer time decorations! I think it would look quite cute on the patio or porch for those summer bbq or birthday parties.
Last week I shared a pattern for a cloud bag charm and thought maybe that wasn’t summery enough so I wanted to start sharing some more summery items. I also have some lovely plant patterns that I have to share as well! Keep an eye out!
Happy crocheting and please let me know if you enjoyed making this pattern!
