How to make a crochet mushroom – Easy Fall Pattern

Hello!

Next up for the fall garland series is a cute little brown mushroom.The crochet mushroom uses simple crochet stitches and a small amount of yarn, so it works up quickly. I also have a pattern for a toadstool mushroom that will be added to the fall garland as well!

Let’s get started!

Materials:

1.65 mm Hook
Lace Weight Yarn
Scissors
Tapestry Needle
Stuffing

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

MR – Magic Ring
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Crochet 2 Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK terms)
BLO – Back Loop Only
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern:

Round 1: SC 6 in MR. (6)

Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)

Round 3: *1 SC, 2 SC in next* Repeat around. (18)

Round 4: *1 SC in next 2 STs, 2 SC in next.* Repeat around. (24)

Round 5: *1 SC in next 3 STs, 2 SC in next.* Repeat around. (30)

Round 6: *2 SC in next, 1 SC in next 4 STs. * Repeat around. (36)

Round 7 – 10: SC around. (36) 

Round 11: SC around in BLO. (36)

Change to white yarn for brown mushroom.

Round 12: *1 SC in next 4 STs, SC2TOG * Repeat around. (30)

Round 13: *1 SC in next 3 STs, SC2TOG * Repeat around. (24)  

Round 14: *1 SC in next 2 STs, SC2TOG * Repeat around. (18) 

Round 15: *1 SC in next ST, SC2TOG * Repeat around. (12) 

Stuff slightly.

Round 16 – 22: SC around. (12)

Stuff stem.

Round 23: SC2TOG around in BLO. (6)

Close opening through front loops only and then FO and weave in ends.
