Crochet Bell Ornament - FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Hello!

There are just 60 days till Christmas!!! I can’t wait! That’s why I’m sharing this crochet bell ornament pattern now. This was so much fun to design since I had to come up with a way to make the clapper for the bell. Luckily, I had some lace weight yarn in the right colour for it.

Materials: Crochet Bell Ornament

3.25 mm Crochet Hook
2.00 mm Crochet Hook
DK and Lace Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Stuffing
A Pair of Scissors

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
MR – Magic Ring
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Two Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK terms)
SLST – Slip Stitch
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
FLO – Front Loop Only
FO – Finish Off

Pattern:

Main Bell (DK Yarn and 3.25 mm Hook)

Round 1: SC 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 3: *1 SC, 2 SC in next* Repeat around. (18)
Round 4 – 8: SC in each ST around. (18)
Round 9: *1 SC in next 2 STs, 2 SC in next.* Repeat around. (24)
Round 10: *1 SC in next 3 STs, 2 SC in next.* Repeat around. (30)
Round 11: *2 SC in next, 1 SC in next 4 STs.* Repeat around. (36)

Clapper (Lace Yarn and 2.00 mm Hook)

Round 1: SC 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 3 – 4: SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 5: *SC2TOG.* Repeat around in FLO. (6)

Stuff and FO in FLO with long tail.

Put hook into top centre of ball and CH 9. SLST into top middle of the underside of bell. FO.

Chain 40 or use ribbon to make a loop for the top of bell to hang the ornament on a tree.
