Adult Santa Hat

It is the first of December and I want to share this Adult Santa Hat pattern with you all! I have made a few of these over the years and decided to share the pattern for it this year. It is a simple pattern that you can work up quickly!

Materials
5.00 mm (H) Hook
Worsted Weight (4) Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Abbreviations
SC – Single Crochet
CH – Chain
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
SC2TOG – Single Crochet Two Stitches Together
BKLO – Back Loop Only
FO – Finish Off

Pattern
CH 8.
Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from Hook and then across. Turn. CH 1. (7)
Row 2 – 63: SC in BKLO in each ST across. Turn. CH 1. (7)
Row 64: Holding the working row and the beginning CH 8 row, SC in the BKLO of the working row and a CH ST together, across. (7)

We will now be working in the rounds.

Round 1: CH 1. SC in each ST around of the brim of the hat. SLST into first ST of the round. (64)
Round 2 – 6: CH 1. SC in each ST around. SLST into first ST of the round. (64)
Round 7: CH 1. *SC in 14 STs, then SC2TOG.* Repeat from * to * around. SLST into first ST of the round. (60)
Round 8: CH 1. SC in each ST around. SLST in first ST of the round. (60)
Round 9: CH 1. *SC in 13 STs, then SC2TOG.* Repeat from * to * around. SLST into first ST of the round. (56)
Round 10 – 14: CH 1. SC in each ST around. SLST in first ST of the round. (56)
Round 15: CH 1. *SC in 12 STs, then SC2TOG.* Repeat from * to * around. SLST into first ST of the round. (52)
Round 16 – 20: CH 1. SC in each ST around. SLST in first ST of the round. (52)

Round 49: *SC2TOG.* Repeat from * to * around. SLST into first ST of the round. (4)
FO. Leave tail to close up the top of the hat. Weave in ends.

For the Pom Pom
Use a large plastic pom pom maker (3 3/8-inch (95.25 mm)), or a cardboard pom pom maker. Tie finished pom pom onto the top of the hat.
