Trinity Stitch Crochet Baby Blanket

Hi Everyone!

I recently finished this crochet baby blanket using Heather, from the Unraveled Mitten’s, pattern for the trinity stitch. I wanted to try a new stitch and googled some and thought Heather’s pattern was so pretty for the teal yarn I had.

For the blanket I made, I casted on 150 chains as the pattern calls for chains in multiples of 2. Once you have completed the blanket to the length you would like, change the yarn to a contrasting colour and single crochet around the whole blanket. Once that is done, change the the yarn colour again and make an scalloped border.

Materials
5.00 mm (H) Hook
Worsted (4) Weight Yarn
Scissors
Tapestry Needle

Abbreviations
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern for Blanket
Chain 150.
Row 1 – 52: Follow the Trinity Stitch Pattern.

Pattern for Border
Round 1: CH 1. SC around.

Round 2: CH 1. 3 DC in same stitch, *SLST in the next stitch, 3 DC in next stitch* Repeat from *to* around. SLST into beginning CH 1.

FO. Weave in ends.

Note: If you find that the scalloped edge is getting too bulky you can try doing 2 DC instead of 3 DC in each stitch 🙂

This stitch was so fun to do and looks so nice. I hope you enjoy making your own blanket, any size you want!

Cheers,
Jessica
