Mary Jane Crochet Slippers Pattern

Hi Everyone!

I’ve recently been making a few items to keep my feet warm. I had some wool yarn around that I decided to use to make some Mary Jane crochet slippers. This pattern is another testing pattern that I just used my own feet to measure against. If you have larger or smaller feet you can adjust the pattern to make them fit!

Here is the pattern:

Materials
5.00mm (H) Hook
Medium Weight (4) Yarn
Scissors
Tapestry Needle Stitch Marker (I just used a safety pin)

Abbreviations
SC – Single Crochet
MR – Magic Ring
SLST – Slip Stitch
CH – Chain
SC2TOG – Single Crochet two stitches together

Pattern
Round 1: 6 SC in a MR (6)

Note: Place stitch marker at the beginning of round 2 and work in rounds instead of connecting each round.

Round 2: 2 SC in each ST from previous round (12)
Round 3: *1 SC, then 2 SC in next stitch* Repeat from * to * around (18)
Round 4: *1 SC in the next 2 STs, then 2 SC in next stitch* Repeat from * to * around (24)
Round 5: *1 SC in the next 3 STs, then 2 SC in next stitch* Repeat from * to * around (30)
Round 6 – 17: SC around (30)
Round 18: SC around. Turn (30)
Round 19 – 44: CH 1. SC in the next 20 STs. Turn (20)
Round 45: CH 1. SC in next 20 STS.
Fold slipper in half and SLST to the beginning of Round 45 to connect the slipper (20)

Note: Place stitch marker at the beginning of round 46 and SC into the same ST as the CH 1 for each round for the first ST of the round.

Round 46: CH 1. SC around top of slipper. SLST into 1st ST (66)

Round 50: CH 1. SC into next 26 STs. SC2TOG.  SC in next 7 STs. SC2TOG. SC in the next 22 STs. SLST into 1st ST (58)
Round 51: CH 1. SC into next 26 STs. SC2TOG.  SC in next 6 STs. SC2TOG. SC in the next 20 STs. SLST into 1st ST (56)
Round 52: CH 1 SLST into the next 18 STs. CH 13. SLST into space on the opposite side of the slipper when the slipper is folded in half. SLST into the STs back to the heel. SLST into the 1st ST.
FO. Leave a long tail to sew the hole in the heel closed. Weave in ends.

Note: My feet are about a Size 5.5/6 North American so you can increase or decrease after or before Round 5 to make a wider and narrower sock. For a longer or shorter sock you would do more or less rounds of Rounds 19 – 44.

I think these socks turned out well and would be perfect for these upcoming colder months.
