Basic Crochet Beanie Pattern

Hi Everyone!

I always love working on easy and quick projects that I can work up for last minute gifts. This would be a great beginner project for working on some basic crochet skills. I always have trouble thinking of presents for adults so I decided to make this hat. It is really worked up quickly and was easy to complete.

Materials
6.5 mm (K) Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Vanna’s Choice – Dark Grey)
Scissors
Tapestry Needle

Abbreviations – US Terms
CH – Chain
HDC – Half-Double Crochet
ST – Stitch
BKLPO – Back Loop Only
SC – Single Crochet
FO – Finish Off

Pattern
CH 35.
Row 1: HDC into 2nd CH from hook and till end. Turn.
Row 2 – 45: CH 1. HDC in each ST in the BKLPO. Turn.
Row 46: In BKLPO, SC into both loops of each beginning CH ST.
FO. Leave long tail for sewing the top of the hat closed.
