Crochet Holly Applique Pattern – FREE PATTERN – Day 8 of 12 Advent Calendar

Hi!

It’s Day 8 of 12 of the Crochet Advent Calendar and it’s a Holly Applique! These are so fun to make and once you make the tree you can also add the holly applique. Again, you can string these up and make them into a garland as well.

Let’s start crocheting!

Materials: Holly Applique

2.00 mm Crochet Hook
Lace Yarn (I used Woolike)
3.00 mm Crochet Hook
DK Yarn (I used Patons Astra)
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors
Hook and Eyes or Buttons

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
MR – Magic Ring
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
DC – Double Crochet (TR in UK terms)
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Holly Applique

Longer Leaf:
CH 8.

Round 1: SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC), SC, SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC), SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC).

On other side of chain

SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC), SC, SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC), SC.

For stem CH 3. SLST in 2nd and 3rd CH from hook.

Shorter Leaf:
CH 6.

Round 1: SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC), SC, SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC). SC, SC, (DC, CH 2, SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC), SC.
