Crochet Flower Bookmarks – FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Hello!
I know I have been sharing a lot of Christmas Crochet Patterns recently, so let’s take a little break with these Crochet Flower Bookmarks! You may recognise the flower patterns from my bag charms, flower pots, and pins. Making these simple patterns will make a perfect gift for book lovers and they are quick to complete as well.

Materials: Crochet Flower Bookmarks
1.80 mm Crochet Hook
2.00 mm Crochet Hook
Crochet Thread and Lace Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Stuffing
A Pair of Scissors
Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row
Abbreviations
MR – Magic Ring
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Crochet Two Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK terms)
HDC – Half Double Crochet (HTR in UK terms)
DC – Double Crochet (TR in UK terms)
TR – Treble Crochet (DTR in UK terms)
SK – Skip a Stitch
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off



Pattern: Crochet Flower Bookmarks
Leaf and Chain (make 3 for the rose and don’t FO for last leaf, continue to Chain) – Crochet thread and 1.80 mm hook
CH 6.
SC into 2nd CH from hook. DC in next 2. HDC in next. SC in last. CH 2. SLST into 1st. SC into same ST as SC. HDC on other side of chain. DC in next 2. SC in last. SLST into 1st SC. FO with tail.
For third leaf/or leaf and chain for daisy and sunflower – CH 80. FO and leave tail and sew onto flower.
For Daisy and Sunflower Bookmarks – 1.80 mm hook and lace weight yarn – (make 2 centres)
Start with green for one of the discs.
Round 1: 6 SC in MR. (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each around. (12)
Change to gold/brown for the disc that has the green centre
Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (18)
FO with invisible FO.
Attach chain and leaf piece to the disc with the green centre then continue to petals.
Sunflower Petals – Using golden yellow yarn:
Hold both circles together and work petals around all four loops.
SLST into any ST on both discs.
Round 4: CH 3. TR. CH 2. SLST into 2nd CH from hook. TR. CH 3. SLST into same ST. SK 1.
*SLST into next stitch of front stitch. CH 3. (TR. CH 2. SLST into 2nd CH from hook. TR. CH 3. SLST into same ST.) all in all four loops. SK 1.* Repeat around. (9 Petals) SLST into 1st ST and FO.
Note: when you reach the 6th or 7th petal, stuff the flower.
Daisy Petals – Using the golden yellow (or white yarn if making the daisy)
Hold both circles together and work petals around all four loops.
SLST into any ST on both discs.
Round 4: CH 3. 3 TR into same. CH 3. SLST into same. SK 1.
*SLST into front disc’s next stitch. CH 3. 3 TR into same. CH 3. SLST into same. SK 1.* Repeat around. (9 Petals) SLST into 1st ST and FO.
Note: when you reach the 6th or 7th petal, stuff the flower.



Rose Bookmark – 1.80 mm Hook and Crochet Thread
Stem cover – CH 2.
Round 1: SC 6 in 2nd CH from hook. (6)
Round 2: SC 2 in each ST around. (12)
FO with invisible FO. Leave tail for sewing.
Rose 2.00 mm Hook
CH 50.
Row 1: SC in 2nd chain from hook. and down chain. Turn. (49)
Row 2: Chain 1. SC 2 in next 2 STs.
*3 HDC in next. SK 1. SLST in next. SK 1.* Repeat 2 times.
*5 HDC in next. SK 1. SLST in next. SK 1.* Repeat 3 times.
*5 DC in next. SK 1. SLST in next. SK 1.* Repeat 4 times.
*5 TR in next. SK 1. SLST in next. SK 1.* Repeat 2 times.
3 HDC in next. SK 1. SLST in last ST.
FO with long tail.
Flip piece over and roll the flower from the SC end towards the end of the row.
Sew together, trying to catch all the layers and sew it back and forth clockwise until you finish going in a circle.
Attach two leaves and then stem cover with the chain and the leaf attached. FO and weave in ends.
