Crochet an Easy Dishcloth – Moss Stitch – FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Hi!

The moss stitch is one of my favourite stitches to use when I crochet, I think it just looks so nice! I had some cotton yarn that I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with so I decided to make a dishcloth with it. These are very quick and easy to make and mostly uses chains and single crochets.

Let’s get started!

Materials: Dishcloth

5.5 mm (I) Crochet Hook
Cotton Worsted Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
ST – Stitch
SK – Skip
FO – Finish Off

Pattern:

CH 26.

Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from hook and down CH. Turn. (25)

Row 2: CH 1. SC in 1st ST, *CH 1, SK 1, SC in next.* Repeat across row. Turn.

Row 3 – 25: *CH 1. SK 1. SC in CH 1 space from last row.* Repeat till last ST. CH 1. SC in last ST. Turn.

Edging/Border: CH 12. SC 23 down side. 3 SC in corner. SC 23 across. 3 SC in corner. SC 23 up side. 3 SC in corner. SC 24 across. (1 in SC and 1 in CH 1 spaces). 2 SC in corner. FO.
