Crochet Little House Ornament – Free Pattern

Hello!

This pattern for a crochet little house ornament turned out so cute! I just used a small amount of lace weight yarn and worked this up so quickly. You can also try using a thicker yarn for a larger house as well. The key is to not stuff the top of the house too much and glue or sew the roof on without pulling the yarn too tightly. If you add a French Knot you can turn this into a little birdhouse ornament too!

Materials: Crochet Little House Ornament

2.00 mm Crochet Hooks
Lace Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors
Stuffing

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Crochet Two Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK terms)
BLO – Back Loop Only
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Crochet Little House Ornament

House

CH 7.

Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from hook and down CH. Turn. (6)

Row 2 – 5: CH 1. SC across. (6)

Continue in the round.

Round 1: SC around edge. SLST into 1st SC. (20)

Round 2: CH 1. SC around. SLST into 1st SC. (20)

Round 3 – 10: CH 1. SC around. SLST into 1st SC. (20)

Round 12: CH 1. SC 2. SC2TOG twice. SC 7. SC2TOG twice. SC 3. SLST into 1st SC. (16)

Round 13: CH 1. SC 2. SC2TOG. SC 7. SC2TOG. SC 3. (14)

FO. Leave long tail and stuff the bottom part of the house, but don’t overstuff it. Sew opening closed.

Roof

CH 8.

Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from hook and down CH. Turn. (7)

Row 2 – 5: CH 1. SC across. Turn. (7)

Row 6: CH 1. SC in BLO across. Turn. (7)

Row 7 – 10: CH 1. SC across. Turn. (7)

Border: SC around. (35) Make 2 SC in each corner.

FO. Leave long tail for sewing or use glue.

Optional: Make french knot in Round 7 of house.

Add scrap yarn or ribbon to the ornament.
