Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament - Free Pattern - Video

Hello!

This week, I am sharing a Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament pattern. This is a different version of the Christmas Tree I made last year, but you can follow that pattern for adding the French Knot Baubles. We put up out tree last week and I realized that we have some many handmade tree ornaments hehe

Materials: Christmas Tree Ornament

3.25 mm Crochet Hook
2.00 mm Crochet Hook
DK and Lace Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors
Stitch Marker
Stuffing

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
MR – Magic Ring
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Two Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK terms)
DC – Double Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SLST – Slip Stitch
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
FLO – Front Loop Only
BLO – Back Loop Only
FO – Finish Off

Pattern:

Star (make 2) – Lace yarn and 2.00 mm hook
Round 1: 10 SC in MR. (10)
Round 2: SLST in next. (DC, CH 2, SLST into 1st, DC) in next. Repeat around.
FO. Leave long tail for one of them.

Sew the two stars together and then to top of tree. Use ribbon or scrap yarn to make loop to turn the tree into an hanging ornament.

Tree – DK and 3.25 mm Hook
Round 1: SC 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 3: *1 SC, 2 SC in next* Repeat around. (18)
Round 4: SC in each ST around in BLO. (18)
Round 5 – 7: SC in each ST around. (18)
Round 8: SC in each ST around in BLO. (18)
Round 9: *1 SC, SC2TOG* Repeat around. (12)
Round 10 – 11: SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 12: SC in each ST around in BLO. (12)
Round 13: SC in each ST around. (12)

Start stuffing.

Round 14: *SC2TOG* Repeat around. (6)
Round 15: SC in each ST around. (6)

Finish stuffing
FO and sew opening closed in FLO.

Snow tips:
Snow tips in the BLO rounds. (2.00 mm hook and lace yarn)
Hold tree upside down and in Rounds 4, 8, and 12: CH 3. SLST into next. Repeat around. At the end of each round SLST into 1st SC. (12, 18, 18 little snow frosts)

Trunk – 2.00 mm hook and Lace Weight Yarn
Round 1: SC 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 3: 1 SC in BLO in each ST around. (12)
Round 4 – 6: SC around. (12)
FO with invisible FO.

Stuff and sew onto the bottom of the tree.

Use French Knots to add baubles in different colour yarn in DK or lace weight.
