Crochet Christmas Tree Garland – Free Pattern

Hello!

Just a few days till Christmas! Today, I am sharing a pattern for a Christmas Tree Garland. You can make one to turn into an ornament, or you can make a lot and turn them into a garland. This is a very quick pattern, so you can make it for some last-minute gifts or decorations.

Materials: Christmas Tree Garland

3.25 mm Crochet Hooks
2.00 mm Crochet Hooks
DK Weight Yarn
Lace Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
HDC – Half Double Crochet (HTR in UK terms)
HDC2TOG – Half Double Crochet Two Stitches Together (HTR2TOG in UK terms)
BLO – Back Loop Only
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Christmas Tree Garland

Tree with 3.25 mm Hook and DK Weight Yarn

CH 11.

Row 1: HDC in 2nd CH from hook and down row. Turn. (10)

Row 2: CH 1. HDC across. Turn. (10)

Row 3 in BLO: CH 1. HDC2TOG. HDC in next 6. HDC2TOG. Turn. (8)

Row 4: CH 1. HDC across. Turn. (8)

Row 5 in BLO: CH 1. HDC2TOG. HDC in next 4. HDC2TOG. Turn. (6)

Row 6: CH 1. HDC across. Turn. (6)

Row 7 in BLO: CH 1. HDC2TOG. HDC in next 2. HDC2TOG. Turn. (4)

Row 8: CH 1. HDC across. Turn. (4)

Row 9 in BLO: CH 1. HDC2TOG x 2. Turn. (2)

Row 10: CH 1. HDC2TOG. FO. (1)

Trunk with 3.25 mm Hook and DK Weight Yarn
Attach yarn at base of tree in the middle.

Row 1: SC in same and in next. Turn. (2)
Row 2: CH 1. SC 2. (2)
FO and weave in ends.

Garland with 2.00 mm Hook and Lace Weight Yarn
Attach yarn in Rows 3, 5, 7 and 9.

CH 3 and SLST into next ST of row. (9, 7, 5, 3 little shells.)

FO and weave in ends.
