Did you just start learning to crochet and want to try a simple project? Or did you want to make some handmade wedding or party favours? I have the perfect pattern for you! This Granny Square Pouch is simple, cute, and works up quickly. You just need to know how to do a single crochet and a double crochet. Make them in a variety of colours too!

Materials: Granny Square Pouch
3.50 mm Crochet Hook
Light Fingering Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors
Stitch Marker
Ribbon – optional
Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each round.
Abbreviations
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
DC – Double Crochet (TR in UK terms)
SLST – Slip Stitch
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Granny Square Pouch
Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as a DC), DC two more times in 3rd CH from hook,
CH 2, 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC, CH 2, SLST to beginning CH.
Round 2: CH 2 (counts as DC), DC two more times in previous CH 2 space, CH 2, 3 DC in same space. CH 1. 3 DC in next CH 2 space. CH 2. 3 DC in same space. Repeat 2 more times. CH 2. SLST in beginning CH.
Round 3: CH 2 (counts as DC), DC two more times in previous CH 2 space, CH 2, 3 DC in same space. CH 1. 3 DC in next CH 1 space. CH 1. 3 DC in next CH 2 space. CH 2. 3 DC in same space. Repeat 2 more times. CH 1. 3 DC in next CH 2 space. CH 2. SLST in beginning CH.
Border holding both granny square together: SC 2 in CH 2 space. SC around three sides of the two squares evenly. SC 2 in last corner of third side (43). Make 3 SC in the bottom corners. SC 2 in last corner of third side (43).

Opening Round 1: CH 1. SC around the opening of the two squares evenly. SLST into 1st CH 1 (25).
Round 2 – 4: CH 2. DC around. (26) Slst into CH 2. FO with invisible FO.
Loop
Chain 80. FO.
Optional – Cut a piece of ribbon around 10 inches/25.4 cm long.
Weave in between the DC of the row after the sc round, leaving 3 DC at the front of the bag.
Tie a bow to finish.
