Cherry Bag Charm

Hello!

Summer is in full swing, and I wanted to change the bag charm on my bag to fit with the season. I went with a Cherry Bag Charm and got designing. I ended up making two versions of the cherries, one flat and one 3D. Both patterns are very quick and easy to make, so you can make one for each of your bags hehe.

Let’s get started!

Materials: Cherry Bag Charm

3.00 mm Crochet Hook
DK Weight Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors
Stitch Marker
Stuffing

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each round.

Abbreviations

MR – Magic Ring
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Two Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK terms)
HDC – Half-Double Crochet (HTR in UK terms)
DC – Double Crochet (TR in UK terms)
TR – Treble Crochet (DTR in UK terms)
SK – Skip
SLST – Slip Stitch
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Cherry Bag Charm

Leaves

CH 12.

First Side: SLST into 2nd CH from hook, DC, TR, DC SLST, SC, SLST, DC, TR, DC, SLST, CH 2, SLST into same ST.

On other side of CH: DC, TR, DC, SLST, SC, SLST, DC, TR, DC, SLST, CH 2, SLST into first SLST of Round. FO.

3D Cherry

Round 1: 6 SC in MR. (6)

Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)

Round 3 – 4: SC around. (12)

Round 5: *SC in 3, 2 SC in next.* Repeat around. (15)

Round 6: *SC in 3, SC2TOG.* Repeat around. (12)

Stuff and FO in FLO.

Loop

SLST into a cherry, CH 30. SLST into other cherry. FO.

*CH 50 for bag charm*

Pull loop through the each middle SC of the leaves.

Flat Cherry

Round 1: 6 SC in MR. (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 3: SLST, HDC, 2 DC, SC in next 7, 2 DC, HDC. FO. (13 not including SLST)

Loop

SLST into a cherry, CH 30. SLST into other cherry. FO.

*CH 50 for bag charm*

Pull loop through the each middle SC of the leaves.
