Crochet a Christmas Tree – FREE Pattern

Hi!

I love this little Christmas Tree Pattern. It works up quickly and can be placed on a flat surface or add a piece of string and turn it into an ornament to add to your other holiday decorations!

Let’s start crocheting!

Materials: Christmas Tree

3.00 mm Crochet Hook
2.00 mm Crochet Hook
Lace Weight Yarn
DK Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors
Stuffing

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

MR – Magic Ring
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Crochet Two Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK Terms)
DC – Double Crochet (TR in UK terms)
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Christmas Tree

Star (make 2) – Lace yarn and 2.00 mm hook
Round 1: 10 SC in MR. (10)
Round 2: *SLST in next. (DC, CH 2, SLST into 1st, DC) in next.* Repeat around.
FO. Leave long tail for one of them.

Sew the two stars together and then to top of tree. Use ribbon or scrap yarn to make loop to turn the tree into an hanging ornament.

Tree – DK yarn and 3.00 mm hook

Round 1: SC 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 3: *1 SC, 2 SC in next* Repeat around. (18)
Round 4: SC in each ST around in BLO. (18)
Round 5: 1 SC in each ST around. (18)
Round 6: *1 SC, SC2TOG* Repeat around in BLO. (12)
Round 7: SC in each ST around. (12)
Round 8: *SC2TOG.* Repeat around in BLO. (6)

Stuff.

Round 9 – 10: 1 SC in each ST around. (6)
FO in FLO.

Snow tips:
Holding tree upside down, attach white lace yarn to Rounds 4, 6, and 8 and use a 2.00 mm hook.

*CH 3. SLST into next.* Repeat around. FO.

Baubles: Make french knots to in different colour yarn in DK or lace weight. Use a small needle and wrap the yarn 2 – 3 times around the needle. FO.
