Crochet a Tulip Plant – Free Pattern – Cute Gift – Home Decor

Tulip Plant

Hello everyone!

You may have seen my previous flower plant crochet patterns on the blog recently and I thought it was time to share the tulip plant! I have done the sunflower and lavender plants and have one more plant to share. These are also essential oil diffusers! A very nice and cute plant for decorating any space.

Let’s get started!

Tulip Plant

Materials: Tulip Plant

2.00 mm Crochet Hook
3.00 mm Crochet Hook
Lace/DK Yarn
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors
Plant Wire
Stuffing
Cotton Ball

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SC2TOG – Single Crochet Two Stitches Together (DC2TOG in UK terms)
DC – Double Crochet (TR in UK terms)
ST – Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
MR – Magic Ring
SK – Skip
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Tulip Plant

Tulip – DK Yarn and 3.00 mm hook

Round 1: 6 SC in MR (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each (12)
Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (18)
Round 4 – 9: 1 SC in each around. (18)
FO with invisible FO.

Cut wire 5 inch/12 cm long.
Twirl end a little bit to secure the wire in the flower. Stuff and sew the top of flower closed by going in a cross pattern.

Leaf – DK Yarn and 3.00 mm hook

CH 6.

SC into 2nd CH from hook.

DC in next 2. HDC in next. SC in last. CH 2. SLST into 1st. SC into same ST as SC.

HDC on other side of CH. DC in next 2. SC in last. FO with long tail.

Use tail and green yarn to attach leaf and create stem on the wire using glue.

Lid – Lace Yarn and 2.00 mm hook

Round 1: 6 SC in MR (6) or chain two and form a loop for more security
Round 2: 2 SC in each (12)
Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (18)
Round 4: 1 SC in next 2 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (24)
Round 5: 1 SC in next 3 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (30)
Round 6: 1 SC in next 4 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (36)
Round 7: 1 SC in next 5 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. SLST into Back loop of 1st SC. (42)
Round 8: CH 1. SC in same ST and around in BLO. SLST into 1st SC. (42)
Round 9: CH 1. SC in same ST. and around. SLST into Back loop of 1st SC. (42)
Round 10: SC in next 5 STs in BLO, SC2TOG in BLO. Repeat around. (36)
Round 11: 1 SC in next 4 STs, SC2TOG. Repeat around. (30)

Sew leaves and the flower to the top of the lid.

Round 12: 1 SC in next 3 STs, SC2TOG. Repeat around. (24)
Round 13: 1 SC in next 2 STs, SC2TOG. Repeat around. (18)

Stuff but don’t over stuff.

Round 14: 1 SC in next ST, SC2TOG. Repeat around. (12)
Round 15: SC2TOG. Repeat around. (6)

FO by sewing the end in the front loops only of the stitches from Round 15.

Tulip Plant

Tulip Plant Pot (try to crochet it tightly if using crochet thread) – lace weight yarn and 2.00 mm hook.
Round 1: 6 SC in MR (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each (12)
Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (18)
Round 4: 1 SC in next 2 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (24)
Round 5: 1 SC in next 3 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (30)
Round 6: 1 SC in each ST around in the BKLO. (30)
Round 7 – 9: 1 SC in each ST around. (30)
Round 10: 1 SC in next 4 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (36)
Round 11 – 13: 1 SC in each ST around. (36)
Round 14: 1 SC in next 5 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (42)
Round 15 – 16: 1 SC in each ST around. (42)
Round 17: 1 SC in next 6 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (48)
Round 18 – 21: 1 SC in each ST around. (48) or until your plant fits on top of the cotton ball snuggly.

FO with invisible FO.

Coaster – Lace weight yarn and 2.00 mm hook
Round 1: 6 SC in MR (6)
Round 2: 2 SC in each (12)
Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (18)
Round 4: 1 SC in next 2 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (24)
Round 5: 1 SC in next 3 STs, 2 SC in next. Repeat around. (30)

While holding the pot and the coaster together (in front loop of pot and both loops for the coaster.

Round 6: CH 3 or pull up loop higher to do a DC. DC in next 3. DC 2 in next. DC in next 4. DC 2 in next. SLST into CH 3. (36)
Round 7: *SK 1. 5 DC in next. SK 1. SLST in next.* Repeat around. (9 Shells)

FO with invisible FO.
