Crochet an Acorn Applique – FREE PATTERN

Hello!

Here with the second pattern for the autumn garland! I have previously shared the toadstool mushroom pattern on the blog and channel! This time I am sharing the acorn applique pattern to add to the garland! I used the puff stitch for the little hat of the acorn and some chains and slip stitches for the points. This turned out so much cuter than I thought it would!

Let’s get crocheting!

Materials: Acorn Applique

4.00 mm Crochet Hook
DK Yarn (I used Patons Astra)
Tapestry Needle
A Pair of Scissors

Note: The numbers in the brackets represent the number of stitches in each row

Abbreviations

MR – Magic Ring
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet (DC in UK terms)
SK – Skip
SLST – Slip Stitch
FO – Finish Off

Pattern: Acorn Applique

Puff Stitch: (Yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop) x 4. (9 Loops on hook.) YO, pull through all 9 loops

Hat
CH 12.
Row 1: SC in 2nd and till end. Turn. (11)
Row 2: SC2TOG. CH 1. *Puff ST in next. CH 1. SK 1.* Repeat 3 times. Puff ST. CH 1. SC2TOG.
Edge: SC 13. SC 5 to middle of top. CH 3. SLST 2 down chain. SC in last 5.

FO. Leave tail to sew hat to body.

Body
CH 6.
Row 1: SC in 2nd and till end. Turn. (5)
Row 2: CH 1. SC 2 in 1st. SC in next 3. SC 2 in last. Turn. (7)
Row 3: CH 1. SC 2 in 1st. SC in next 5. SC 2 in last. Turn. (9)
Row 4 – 8: CH 1. SC in each. Turn. (9)
Row 9: CH 1. SC in each. (9)
Edge: SC 10/9. CH 2. SLST into 1st CH. SK 1. SC in next 20/19.

FO.

Sew hat to body. Covering Edge row and Row 9.
