Crochet Bunny Hat and Diaper Cover Free Pattern

Hi Everyone!

It is almost the long weekend and time for Easter! I received some free fuzzy pink yarn recently and was wondering what I could make with it. Then I thought since it is almost Easter, I would make a bunny rabbit baby set with a hat and diaper cover. I thought it would be difficult to crochet with this yarn, but if you don’t have to undo it, it crochets like any other yarn. This is my first time designing a diaper cover pattern so there were some sections that I had to redo and adjust. I also adjusted the baby hat pattern for the bunny hat and made some ears to add on top.

Knitted Hat with Pom Pom Pattern

Hi Everyone!

This week I want to share with you a knitted hat pattern that uses the same Loops and Threads Facet yarn that I used in last weeks infinity scarf pattern. I tried some decreasing with this pattern and think it turned out alright. I need to practice decreasing more to make it look perfectly round, but I think it looks round enough for my first try.

DSC03154_wmDSC03170_wm

Here is the pattern:

Materials
Super Bulky Yarn (~60 metres/60 yards)
10.0 mm (US 15) Knitting Needles
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Pattern
CO 54 STs.
Row 1 – 4: K2, P2 till end of row (54)
Row 5: Knit till end of row (54)
Row 6: Purl till end of row (54)
Repeat Row 5 and 6 ten times for a total of 20 rows of stockinette stitch.
Row 25: *(K11, K2TOG)* Repeat from * to * three times then K9, K2TOG (50)
Row 26: Purl till end of row (50)
Row 27: *(K10, K2TOG)* Repeat from * to * three times then K8, K2TOG(46)
Row 28: Purl till end of row (46)
Row 29: *(K9, K2TOG)* Repeat from * to * three times then K7, K2TOG (42)
Row 30: Purl till end of row (42)
Row 31 – 34: Repeat Row 5 and Row 6 two times each for a total of 4 rows of stockinette stitch.
Cast off. Leaving a long tail to sew the top and sides of the hat together. To sew up the sides of the hat, use the mattress stitch or any other sewing techniques you prefer.

Optional Pom Pom
Use a medium or large plastic pom pom maker (6.35 cm (2 1/2-inch) or 8.59 cm (3 3/8-inch)), a forkyour fingers, or a cardboard pom pom maker. Tie finished pom pom onto the top of the hat.
The pom pom is optional, but I think it makes the hat look nicer and more fun.

That’s the pom pom knitted hat pattern. This roving yarn is so soft and easy to use and since it is super bulky, the projects are completed really quickly.

Knitting Hat/Toque Pattern

Hi Everyone!

Need a last minute Christmas gift? I have the perfect pattern for you. This knitted hat uses bulky yarn and size 10.0 mm knitting needles so it will be worked up quickly. I used Loops and Threads Charisma yarn for this project, but you can use whatever bulky yarn you want to complete this hat.

4-2_wm1-3_wm

Here is the pattern:

Materials
10.0 mm (US 15) Knitting Needles
Bulky Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Pattern
CO 48 STs.
Row 1: Knit till end (48)
Row 2: Purl till end (48)

Repeat Row 1 and 2 until your piece measures the circumference of your head.  For the hat I made, I stopped after it measured 40 cm (16 inches) long and casted off.

Cast Off. Leave long tail to sew the sides and the tops of the hat together. I used the mattress stitch to sew the sides of the hat and just stitched the top of the hat until there were not holes anymore to complete the hat.

5-1_wm2-2_wm

Once you finish sewing the hat together you can weave in the ends.  I decided not to add a pom pom to this hat, but you can make some pom poms and attach it to the top of the hat to add a cute touch to the hat. I discuss pom pom making in the newborn Santa hat pattern.

Done! This hat is very basic so it will make the perfect last minute Christmas present! Have fun making your own bulky yarn knitted hat.

Pumpkin Newborn Baby Crochet Hat Pattern

Hi Everyone!

Ever since I made the pumpkin and Jack-o-Lantern patterns, I felt like I had to make a pumpkin hat for a newborn. This is a very easy pattern that would look adorable on any new babies in your life for their Halloween costume or just another fall day.

DSC02988

Here is the pattern:

Abbreviations

CH – Chain MR – Magic Ring
DC – Double Crochet SLST – Slip Stitch
ST –  Stitch FO – Finish Off

Pattern
Pumpkin
Start with Brown Yarn
Round 1: CH 2. 8 DC into a MR. SLST into 2nd CH of CH 2 (8)
Switch to Orange Yarn
Note: Place stitch marker at the beginning of Round 2.
Round 2: CH 2. 2 DC in each ST. SLST into 2nd CH of CH 2 (16)

Round 7 – 12: CH 2. DC around. SLST into 2nd CH of CH 2 (48)
FO. Weave in ends.

Stem
