Fall is upon us for those that live in the northern hemisphere and it is getting quite chilly. I haven’t posted a free pattern in awhile so here is a simple pattern that you can whip up quickly using some scrap cotton you might have lying around. If you are like me then you will have a stock of cotton yarn every time you go to Michael’s and the Bernat Cotton Yarn goes on sale!
This cotton pad pattern is as follows.
5.00 mm (H) Hook
Bernat Cotton Yarn (Medium Weight)
|SC – Single Crochet||SLST – Slip Stitch|
|ST – Stitch||FO – Finish Off|
Round 1: 6 SC in MR (6)
Note: Work in rounds and do not connect the rounds.Place Stitch marker at the beginning of Round 2.
Round 2: 2 SC in each ST around (12)
Round 3: *1 SC, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (18)
Round 4: *1 SC in next 2 ST, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (24)
Round 5: *1 SC in next 3 ST, then 2 SC in next ST* Repeat from * to * around (30)
Round 6: SLST around. SLST into first SLST (30)
FO. Weave in ends.
As you can see this pattern is very simple and is perfect to practice your crocheting with scrap yarn. I hope you enjoy making your own cotton pads for yourself or as a gift!
