Hi Everyone its Chocolate Cake Time!
I love love LOVE to bake and am always looking for easy and delicious recipes to do. I like recipes that I can finish quickly since I tend to do a lot of baking at night time. I have been wanting to make a chocolate cake for a while since I have been making sponge cakes and meringues for the past couple of weeks. Most of the cake recipes that I found either used cake mix or had obscure ingredients that I did not have on hand. I finally found one that I could finish in a couple of hours on Jennifer’s Foodess Blog! I followed Jennifer’s recipe except for the buttermilk. I substituted it with milk and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar instead of 1. I had all the ingredients on hand and so I started baking it at 9 pm at night. The cake was moist and was not too sweet which I really like.
For the buttercream frosting I used the recipe on Alice’s Savoury Sweet Life Blog 🙂 For Alice’s recipe I cut all the ingredients in half since I didn’t want any left over icing because I always forget about it in the fridge and have to throw it out later.
Here are the pictures of the process.

I was done at around 10 pm and let the buttercream icing harden in the fridge before eating it for breakfast the next day 😛 Easy and delicious!
